The song describes a relationship headed for the rocks. The guy in the song doesn't want to give up, but he also doesn't want to keep crying for someone he can't have. He says to the girl: "Give me a sign, and let me know that we're through if you don't love me like I love you." He asks her to "return the love you took from me." The song raises the issue of honesty in a dating relationship. How clear and direct should people be when dating? It is said that honesty is the best policy. But what if we are uncertain how we feel about a rela- tionship? We are not always certain what we want in life at a particular time or what this love means for the future. If you are dating someone and enjoying the ex- perience, say so. But also be clear if you are inter- ested in dating others. Or if you have goals that mean you are likely to have to plans up front. Director Charles Shyer's sentimental domestic comedy is frequently funny in its wholesome depiction of fam- ily life. Mild sexual innuendo. The U.S. Catholic Conference classification is A-II -- adults and adolescents. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is PG -- parental guid- ance suggested. "Georgia" (Miramax) Brittle drama in which an impassioned but untalented younger sister (Jennifer Jason Leigh) vainly tries to copy the personal and professional suc- cess of her singer-composer sis- ter (Mare Winningham). Pow- erful performances distinguish director Ulu Grosbard's multi- layered, often unpleasant study of sibling rivalry for which there is no easy resolu- tion. A bedroom scene with nu- dity, adulterous references, re- curring substance abuse and frequent rough language. The U.S. Catholic Conference clas- sification is A-III -- adults. Holiday-themed drama in which a family moves in with an elderly woman in order to care for her and ends up learning the true meaning of Christmas. Animated holiday special fea- turing characters from "The Nanny" sitcom in which Fran (voice of Fran Drescher) takes BHghton (voice of Benjamin Sal- isbury) on a magical journey to teach him the real meaning of Christmas. Monday, Dec. 18, 9-11 p.m. EST (NBC) "Eye of the Stalker, A Moment of Truth Movie." Fact-based drama in which a judge (Joanna Cassidy) finds the law is of little help When her daughter (Brooke Langton) is stalked by a dangerous college teacher (Jere Burns) who re- mains just within the letter of the law. Rebroadcast of a special hosted by "Touched by an Angel" star Roma Downey in which three stories of apparent angelic intervention are drama- tized. Thursday, Dec. 21, 8-8:30 p.m. EST (CBS) "Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too." Ani- mated holiday special in which Pooh misdirects a letter to Santa listing the gift wishes of all his friends. Thursday, Dec. 21, 8-9 p.m. EST (ABC) "Blue Whale: Largest Animal on Earth." From "ABC's World of Discov- ery," James Brolin hosts a look at the gigantic mammals in their habitat along the Pacific coast, where they appear to be overcoming the threat of extinc- tion. Saturday, Dec. 23, 8-9 p.m EST (CBS) "Opryland's Country Christmas." Rebroadcast of Nashville's celebration of the holidays starring Clint Black, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Ronna Reeves, Marty Stuart, Mel Tillis, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Tammy Wynette and the Soul Children of Chicago.
