The "Community Room" sign, above, points the way to a ground level meeting and classroom area for religious education at the rear of the rectory. The present church, center, was built in 1924 for about $17,000. Parish records indicate the contractor was John Keller; John Bayard was the architect. The property at 8th and Sycamore.was donated by a Mr. Cassidy. A major drawback of the previous church had been its location on property frequently flooded by several feet of water from a nearby creek. The present church is on higher ground, and nearer the center of the town. STS.
