in the months to come
The Synod Implementation

of the Synod and function as a
Diocesan Pastoral Council
until one is established, ac-
cording to the role described in
a Synod document.
That document also listed
the following functions:
1. To resolve any issues that
the November 1993 body of
delegates may refer to the
Synod Implementation Team.
2. To establish a Diocesan
Pastoral Council by November,
1994, using a consultative
process.
3. To finalize the Diocesan
Pastoral Plan and direct its
implementation.
4. To develop and support a
communication network for
consultation with various
groups throughout the diocese,
in order to identify resources
and ensure the smooth imple-
mentation of the Diocesan Pas-
toral Plan.
5. To review current Dioce-
san Policy in accord with the
policies and procedures
adopted at the 1993 Synod.
At their first meeting, Sun-
day, Dec. 5, members of the
Synod Implementation Team
are to get to know one another;
to discuss and clarify their
role; to review the role of the
Diocesan Policy Review Com-
mittee and the Research and
Development Committee and
recommend members for those
committees; and to discuss and
develop a timeline for their
meetings and the tasks they
will do.
Team members will also be
expected to study documents
and materials on Diocesan
Pastoral Councils before their
next meeting in January.
