November 27, 1987 The Message -- for Catholics of Southwestern Indiana Around the Diocese DC award Nancy Beckman has been chosen to receive the first Daughters of Charity Award at St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville. She is a registered nurse in Car- diac Rehabilitation and has boon an employee at St. Mary's for 10 years. She has been described as "the most patient-centered nurse." Beckman is a member of St. Benedict Church, Evansville. Building fund The total amount pledged to the New Center Building Fund at St. John Church, Loogootee, is $168,390. As of Nov. 1, $92,505 has been received. Memorial service On'e-hundred-and-eighty friends and relatives attended a Jasper Council Knights of Colum- bus memorial service on Nov. 2. The tests are for all eighth grade students seeking admission as freshmen in the fall of 1988. Placement tests for Reitz Memorial will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 8-11:45 a.m. in the school cafeteria, 1500 Lincoln Ave., Evansville. Placement tests for Mater Dei will be Saturday, Jan. 16, 8-11:45 a.m. in the school cafeteria, 1300 Harmony Way, Evansville. A testing fee of $3 is payable at the time of examination.
