However we give thanks, doing so is one of life's most profound gestures. Expressing gratitude changes us inwardly. Doing so uplifts our emo- tional well-being. We are more likely to see our life differently when we view it through eyes of appre- ciation and thanksgiving. In my opinion, Thanksgiving Day also is one of the year's holy days. In our Catholic tradition, we have special days throughout the year when we remember events in Jesus' life or the life of Mary, for example. These days help us recall our per- sonal connection with God. times hurt and emotional us. Thanksgiving does personally p focus and to realize that we when we encounter personal grief and hurt. As we celebrate Thanksgiving courage everyone to use this occasion of support and healing in life. No matter what your age, give thanks in some specific way. Use music, activity, gift whatever has meaning for you. in your own unique way. Remember once more all the "love that's freely given" to heal your hurts, u and bless your life's journey. While Thanksgiving obviously is not an offi- cially recognized holy day, surely a day focused on looking to the source of all life is holy and blessed.
