. Father Kress to celebrate fortieth anniversary of ordination Father Robert Kress, a priest of the Diocese, will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on Aug. 6. Father Kress was born in 1932 in Jasper, the son of Oscar and Stella (Schutz) Kress. He studied for the priesthood at St. Meinrad and Innsbruck, and was ordained to the priesthood Aug. 6, FATHER ROBERT 1958. KRESS His first assignment was as assistant pastor at St. Boniface Church in 1958. A year later, he was assigned to St. Simon Church, Washington. He completed graduate studies at the University of Inns- bruck, and then served as Director of the Newman Apostolate at the University of Evansville. He was a visiting fellow at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J., and an assistant professor in the Department of Dogmatic and Systematic Theology, School of Divinity, at St. Louis University. He also served as a faculty member at the University of Evansville, Catholic University of America, the University of Illinois and the University of San Diego.
