Former classmates and members of the McBride family attended a memorial service which was held at Mater Dei High School on June 5; McBride was killed 25 years ago, on June 5, 1968, in Vietnam. During the memorial ser- vice, Father Eugene Dewig, pastor at Sacred Heart Church, Evansville and a for- mer religion teacher at Mater Dei, blessed a Bradford pear tree which was planted in memory of McBride. Judy Gries, who chaired the committee that planned the service, said the idea for planting a tree was discussed during a class reunion last summer. McBride is the only member of the class who has died. He was the son of Romuald and Grace McBride. IIII I H, ! AUTO TOPS, SEAT COVERS.
