Last n results Parishes that o Use the new model were very impres- sive. Fourteen of the parishes that used the model reached their campaign goals for the first time since 1983. Parishes that used the new model experienced average pledge and number of donor increas- es of 23% and 16% com- pared to 0.06% and 2.9% increases for parishes that did not use the model. --How successful is it? This year's Success Model data are still incomplete, but early indicators suggest anoth- er strong showing partic- ularly for those parishes that faithfully follow every component of the model. Here are a few high- lights: Sacred Heart, Evansville, experienced a 49% increase in pledges and 33% increase in number of donors over 1993. St. Mary, Huntingburg, real- ized a 39% gain in its total pledges and a 32% increase in donors. Blessed Sacrament, Oakland City, increased its percent of participa- tion by more than 65% and not only made its goal for the first time in many years but, thanks to one particularly gener- ous donor, achieved the highest result in the dio- cese: 206% of its goal! ..... There are many other Success Model success stories too numerous to mention here. But, as one happy pastor expressed it: "1 don't understand why every parish doesn't use the Success Model, particu- larly those whose cam- paigns have not been successful in recent years, and for two obvi- ous reasons: it's simple, and it worksl"
