Sister Kathryn has been a member of the religious com- nmnity since 1956. She pro- fessed her final vows on Au- gust 10, 1961. She holds a bachelor's de- gree in' education from St. Benedict's College (now closed) in Ferdinand, and a master's degree in education from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Sister Kathryn also completed a year of study at the Institute for Spiritual Leadership of Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, and earned a second master's degree in pastoral studies from Loyola. From 1960- 1964, Sister Kathryn was an elementary school teacher at St. Meinrad, Ind, Elementary School. She From 1977  1981, Sister Kathryn served as principal of Holy Redeemer School in Evansville. From 1981 until her election in 1989, Sister Kathryn was a staff member of Kordes Enrichment Center, a retreat and conference (:en- ter operated by the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand. Sister Kathryn's first term as prioress was marke(t by the 125th anniversary celebration of the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, the official name change from Convent to Monastery hnmaculate Con- ception, and the beginning of Forward in Faith, the sisters' capital campaign for the reno- vation of the sisters' main res- idence building, St. Benedict Hall.
