Evansville Baccalaureate Members of the Mater Dei High School Class of '98 were recently "pink slipped" as part of Baccalau- reate festivities. "The students were lured to the school gym with fake detention slips," according to Barb Liffick, Mater Dei parent. Their offense: graduating and leaving the juniors in charge. When the students arrived in the gym they found a 15-foot carousel, hand-painted by Karen Schenk, mother of Mindy Schenk. The entire gym was transformed back in time to the 1950s, and included hand-painted giant pop- corn boxes and classic cars. Music from the movie Grease played throughout the evening.
