2 The Message w for Catholics of Southwestern Indiana -Over 100 Sisters attend pizza, bowling There were 109 Sisters in attendance at this year's Pizza and Bowling party, sponsored by the Evansville Serra Club, according to Marty Homing, one of the organizers. "They do love it," Horning said. This year's group includ- ed more than 20 Sisters who had never attended before. "They are the happiest people I've ever seen," Horning said. "I'm energized by them." Benedictine Sisr Geraldine Hedinger, director of the Office for Adult Formation, said she attended because "it's a nice gathering." "It's informal, and it's a lot of fun." She says the annual event gives her the opportunity to "visit with lots of people from other communities that I don't get to see." FATHER KURT STASIAK FATHER JOSEPH WEIGMAN FATHER JONATHAN FASSERO St. Meinrad announces faculty appointments FATHER JOHN THOMAS SISTER DIANE PHARO FATHER DAMIAN SCHMELZ Benedictine Father Mark O'Keefe, president-rector at St. Meinrad School of Theology, has announced the following faculty appointments: Benedictine Father Kurt Stasiak has been named acting director of spiritual formation. He will continue as associate professor of sacramental/litur- gical theology. He holds a bachelor's degree from St. Meinrad College, a master of divinity degree from St. Meinrad School of Theolo- gy, and advanced degrees in sacred theology from Pontifical Athenaeum Sant Anselmo in Rome. Father John Thomas has been named director of enroll- ment and associate dean for first-year theology students. He will continue as director of liturgy for the school's theolo- gy chapel and as spiritual director for individual stu- dents. He joined St. Meinrad last August. He earned a bachelor's degree from Thomas More Col- lege and a master of divinity degree from St. Meinrad School of Theology. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1993. Father Joseph Weigman has been named associate spiritual director. In May, he completed his master's degree in guidance and counseling at Bowling Green State University. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Miami Univer- sity and a master of divinity degree from St. Meinrad School of Theology. Sister Diane Pharo has been named director of the Student Counseling Center. She holds bachelor degrees in math and theology, a master's degree in counseling psycholo- gy, and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Spaulding University.
