The Message -- for Catholics of Southwestern Indiana seniors will receive 1994 diplom By MARY ANN HUGHES Message staff writer Three-hundred-eighty-nine seniors in the five Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Evansville will receive their high school diplomas this year. Graduation ceremonies in the diocese begin in Vincennes May 27 when 20 seniors at Rivet High School receive their 1994 diplomas Graduation be- gins at 7 p.m. and will be held in St. John Church. Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger will con- fer the diplomas; he will also serve as guest speaker. Michael Mohammed is Rivet's valedictorian; Clare Vonderwell and Heather Allen are both still in the running for salutatorian, On May 28, 33 seniors at Marian Heights Academy, Fer-' " dinand, will receive diplomas. Benedictine Sister Mary Cheryl Uelbelhor, president, nd Richard Mathena, princi- pal, will be handing out the diplomas. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in the monastery chapel and Susan Fillichio will serve as guest speaker. Alisa Dickson and Gwynne Cameron are the top two stu- dents in the American College Prep curriculum at the acad- emy. Thirty seniors at Washing- ton Catholic High School, Washington, will receive their diplomas May 28. Baccalaure- ate ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. at St. Simon Church, with graduation following immedi- ately in the Washington Catholic High School gymna- sium. Bishop Gettelfinger will confer the diplomas and serve as guest speaker. Brian Mullen and Eileen Weber are the class valedicto- rians and Amy Mischler is salutatorian. Mater Dei High School in Evansville will hold its gradua- tion ceremonies June 5 at 1:30 p.m. in Vanderburgh Audito- rium. Bishop Gettelfinger will confer the diplomas and Bar- bara Price will be the guest speaker. Aaron Couture is the class valedictorian and Amy Folz is salutatorian. One-hundred- forty-seven seniors will receive MICHAEL MOHAMMED their diplomas Memorial High School in Evansville will hold its gradua- tion ceremonies June 5 at 4 p.m. at Vanderburgh Audito- rium. Bishop Gettelfinger will give out diplomas and Dr. David Rice, retiring president at the University of Southern Indiana, will be the guest speaker. Jesse Redman is Memorial's valedictorian and Marilyn Schroering is salutatorian. One-hundred-fifty-nine stu- dents will receive diplomas.
