Is romance sometimes more like "theater" than real life? Perhaps some romance stories are some- thing like a soap-opera, or a comedy, or maybe even a farce. To the character in Meat Loafs latest hit, "Not a Dry Eye in the House," romance can also be thought of as tragedy. He describes his romantic ex- perience in terms of a play: "Act 1: The story's just begun. Act 2: I fell in love with you. Act 3: Knew it was meant to be. Act 4: You don't love me no more." However, it seems to me that this guy is exag- gerating. Maybe he's trying to make his ex-girlfriend feel bad about her decision to leave their relation- ship. Or perhaps his goal is to attain attention or sympathy from others. Whatever his intent, this much is clear: He needs to start Act 5 and get on with his life. One way to do this is to on what has occurred. He seems to have forgotten dating is to meet a variety helps us learn more about c how to be in a relationship.
