Sister Funk is currently serv- ing her second four-year term as Prioress for the Benedictine community in Beech Grove, Ind. Dinners are planned at the Vanderburgh County Auditorium Gold Room, Evansville, May 13, and at the Holiday Inn, Jasper, May 14. Dinners begin with a welcome and a prayer at 6:30 p.m. Sister Funk's topic is, "Compassion: The only judgment we Christians can make." In preparing for her presentation, Sister Funk said that Christians are call- ed "to act as if the Kingdom of God is already com- pleted" and to "bring into our time the Reign of God." She said Christians are call- ed to live a "lifestyle of com- passion." Sister Funk's experience includes work as an elementary teacher, arch- diocesan coordinator of DREs and archdiocesan director of religious educa- tion in Indianapolis. She was Adult Catechetical Consul- tant in the Office of Religious Education for the Arch- diocese of Louisville. Sister Funk was one of 12 women in Indiana selected to collaborate on the book, "Roman Catholic Women."
