New Holy Redeemer Church dedicated Holy Redeemer parishioners gathered outside their new church, Saturday, April 12. During ceremonies outside, Earl Wells, parish council president, presented the keys to the church to Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger, who then gave them to Father William Wargel, pastor. After the pastor unlocked the church doors, the liturgical ministers and congregation processed into the church for the dedication of the new building. An Open House will be held Sunday, April 26, from 2 to 4 p.m., with tours of the new church scheduled at 2 and at 3 p.m. Bishop Gettelfinger, flanked by Deacon Robert Hayden and Father willia Deering, pours oil on the altar. The bishop also anointed the walls of the church, marking with oil the sign of the cross in four locations. The oil was rubbed into the altar, and then wiped fore the altar was p for the liturgy of the Eu-_ charist. The bishop said be expected the oil to remain., on the walls and be a laSW sign of the blessing. Anthony Buccilli Jr. leads the choir and the con- gregation in song. Father Robert Temme, associate pastor, incenses the church. Gathered around the altar are Deacon Hayden, Father Wargel, Father Tmme, Bishop Gettelfinger, Father Jean Vogler, Bishop Francis R. Shea, Msgr. Charles Kaiser and Father Henry Kuykendall. Msgr. Kaiser and Father Vogler had served the parish as pastors; Father Kuykendall as associate pastor. Message Photos by Paul R. 1 ingolJ
