The Message -- for Catholics of Southwestern Indiana April 5, 1991 t Good Friday Walkers leave the Ozanam Family Shelter in what was formerly St. Anthony School, top, and continue, above, toward the Tri-State Food Bank in Evansville on Good Friday, March 29. Seventy- six persons from nine chur- ches and the Ozanam Shelter were registered for the walk, which raised a total of $1280 to be shared equally by the shelter and the food bank. Churches represented were Good Shepherd, St. Benedict, Holy Redeemer, Holy Rosary, St. Anthony, St. Theresa and Resurrection, all in Evansville; St. Joseph in Vanderburgh County and Holy Angels, New Harmony. Participants had been asked to pledge a minimum of $5, given personally or from sponsors. The Good Friday Walk, for a total of 3.2 miles, began at Ozanam Family Shelter, proceeded to the Tri- State Food Bank for a tour and simple refreshments, and returned to St. Anthony Church. Father William Traylor, pastor, and members of St. Agnes Church, Evansville, process through the neighborhood, at right, as they have done for the past several years on Good Friday. i-7 The cross is carried at the ] Funeral Pre.PlamngSmce1940 I head of the procession, with [ Mill stops along the way for er & Miller prayer and re.econ. ___ . 424-9274 -- Message photos by Paul Leingang James Jett & Associates, Inc. life * health o home * IRA retirement planning 473--4005 514 S.
