The winner of the 1997 Teacher oftheYear Award will be announced May 7 at a banquet in the Manol in Evansville. "I am thrilled to see so many deserving candidates this year for our Teacher of the Year award," said Phyllis Beshears, diocesan director of schools. "I look forward to another exciting evening and grand cel- ebration. There are so many deserving teachers across the diocese. The evening affords us the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding performance of all who do excellent work as teach- ers in our Catholic schools. "Over the past years, many teachers have shared their appre- ciation for this evening of cele- bration. We try to make it a veD, special event to all who attend."
