"Skip" Simms of Holy Rosary Church, Evansville, has been re-elected president of the Buffalo Trace Council, Boy Scouts of America. Richard Baehl of St. JosephChurch, Vanderburgh Coun- ty, and Bill Schuler of St. Joseph Church, Jasper, have received the Silver Beaver award, scouting's highest award for volunteer service. Rottet award Kyle Jahn is the recipient of the 1998 Eddie Rottet Jr. Memorial Scout award. He is a parishioner at Holy Family Church, Jasper, and the son of Jerry and Monica Jahn. Spring break During spring break, Kelly Mynn will join fellow students at Spring Hill College, Mobile, Ala., on a trip to New Mexico to assist a local Habitat for HumaniW chapter. She is the daughter of Pat and Mickey Fiynn of Evansville. Grant Lois Gray, youth director at Holy Angels Church, New Harmony, has received a Fellowship Creativity Grant. Sixty-eight students at the St. Agnes campus prayed one recent Wednesday. Jacob Hassler said, "It makes me feel good because I'm praying to Jesus." Maggie Hurm said, "It makes me feel good, really happ):" Twenty-seven kindergartners went to Sacred Heart Church to pray. Lauren Kempf said, "I like pray- ing to Jesus." Lindsey Doerr, walked by the large crucifix, and said, "I love you, Jesus, and good luck!" Between twenty-five and thirty students at the St. Boniface campus have been devoting their free time to prayer during their lunch recess. Whitney Oliver said, "It makes me feel really close to Jesus when I give up my recess for him." The students in Carol Spiliman's class have received e-mail messages from Amy as she travels through Egypt, Kenya and India. She has written the children about riding a camel to see the pyramids in Egypt, and her five- day mountain climb up Mount Kenya. She also enjoyed a f0ur-day safari, and e-mailed the kinder- gartners about .seeing "elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and rhinoceros."
