He is remember as a "person of impeccable manners, gra- cious courtesy, warm heart and perceptive but dry wit. He had an incisive mind which never grew old and enabled him to ese in March 1943. He was re- leased from prison camp in 1945 and returned to the United States. He then pursued his mas- ter's degree in physics at De- Paul University in Chicago; his speciality was the philosophy of science.
