The Ou II n 7MI &lt; ,%: 5;17 <: %: u :4:: ,. 0 0 Recognizing that the majority of the structures at the Outpost have been in existence since the early 1970's, the Outpost has been developing a site plan that incorporates all aspects of the Camp's grounds and buildings. Developing the Site Plan involves consideration of many aspects of the current camp life, and invites thoughts and dreams on what "could be." "'The immediate challenges that we face," said Mike Eppler, Diocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, "'are our cabins. We had cabins built to last for ten years that are fifteen years old. In the spring of 1997, visitors and families will notice that we have replaced our cab- ins in the "upper" part of camp with new quarters. These new facilities are designed to develop leadership skills, foster community, and develop an outdoor environmental ethic within our young people -- which is the mission of our camp:' A typical cabin will host six youth and will be connected to three other cabins by a walkway. Each cluster of four cabins will have a campfire cir- cle with benches so that campers can develop friendships with OO 0 O il I It @ @ ti "Gypsy v reekend00, ' Scli,edu Beginning Fall, 1997, the Outpost will offer two Family Campout weekends. We are calling the ends." A Gypsy Weekend is a weekend where families are invited to come to camp to enjoy offerings, and the company of other families. We will have staff available for families who wish for the weekend. We will also have passes available for families to go to Lincoln State park.
