New members The Holy Family Fraternity of the secular Franciscan Order has four new members, accord- ing to Poor Clare Sister Dorothy Kopetsky. The new members made their professions on Sunday, Feb. 5, at thePoor Clare Monastery in Evansville. They are Bill Day, Margie Day and Karen Karns, all of Evansville, and Carol Robinson of Mount Carmel, Illi- nois. The celebrant at the Mass was Father John O'Guigg of Colum- bia, Illinois. At the conclusion of the Mass, a reception ceremony was held for three people who are enter- ing the novitiate; they are Jenelle Karns of Evansville, and Bob and Paula Stallings of Lewisport, Ky. In appreciation Parishioners at Sacred Heart Church, Vincennes, are getting ready for their annual Apprecia- tion Party, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 12. The evening of "family fun" is held to celebrate "our parish's gratitude for all God's Blessings that have come our way through the Sharing, Ministry, and Love of our parish family members," explained Father James Blessinger, pastor. In the monthly newsletter, he writes: "There's much to be grateful for.., financially.., we are about $9,000 ahead of last year in income, and several thousand dollars ahead of the 'budgeted need' of $4,500 a week . . renovation work in the rec- tory and major maintenance work is about to begin with the Parish Council and Finance Board's study and approval and with the spoken support of the parish as a whole . . . our Catholic school system and reli- gious education program are not without problems but are going well so far this year . . . adult spiritual growth programs are also being responded to.
