The. theme this year is "Choose Catholic Schools: The Good News in Education." Phyllis Beshears, diocesan director of schools, explained that Catholic Schools Week is a time to "celebrate the uniqueness and quality of our schools." "As we begin another Catholic Schools Week cele- bration and involve ourselves I IIII II I Illll rounding this, we become more aware of the wonderful opportunity our students have in attending Catholic schools. "Many people make this possible for our students. To all of those men and women, we say 'thank you.' Beshears noted that "Catholics throughout the United States continue to be- lieve in the quality of our schools. Parents want Catholic schools for their children because they want high standards and expecta- tions for academic learning and Christian living.
