The Message -- for Catholics of Southwestern Indiana 1996 Continued from page 1 the church and former rectory, and construction of a new priest's residence. • Vincennes parishes: Refur- bishing an 1884 school building, on the same city block as Rivet High School, estimated at $384,000. • Old Cathedral, Vincennes: Restoration of the church, esti- mated at $235,400. • Christ the King Church, Evansville: A multi-purpose building, new classrooms and a computer lab, $1.2 million. • Resurrection Church, Evans- ville: Seven classrooms, office space and a multi-purpose facil- ity, $1.8 million. • St. Joseph Church, Dale: A new parish center, estimated at $550,000, with a parking lot, lighting, landscaping, walkways and stairs. Ground was broken on March 30. The 10,000 square foot building will include 12 classrooms for religious educa- tion, an office, a kitchen, and a large assembly room capable of seating 350 persons at tables. • St. Mary Church, Evans- ville: A Parish Ministry Center was dedicated in July. • St. Wendel, St. Wendel: Asbestos removal and renova- tion of school. Projects under consideration during 1996 included: • Holy Name Church, Bloom- field: A feasibility study was underway for more classrooms. • St. Peter Celestine, Celes- tine: A new parish center. • St. Joseph Church, Vander- burgh County: A combination gym and multi-purpose build- ing. • St. Clement Church, Boonville: Looking at possible construction of new church. • Renovation and expansion of Mater Dei and Memorial high schools. • St. Joseph, Jasper: New HVAC system. • Corpus Christi Church, Evansville: Feasibility study for church renovation and a school addition. • Holy Spirit Church, Evans- ville: Master planning efforts looking at a new multi-purpose building. • St. Philip Church, St. Philip: Looking at possibility of new church building. • Good Shepherd Church, Evansville: Plans underway for a school addition. • St. John the Baptist Church, Newburgh: Plans for a multi- purpose center, school addition and finishing the church base- ment. • St. Agnes Church, Evans- ville: Considering replacing the old school with multi-purpose building and additional class- room space.
